ABOUT THE SKYRAIDER: As you may (or not) have guessed from the above picture, I am an ex-Spad Driver. Also know as the AD, the A-1, and the Skyraider, she was the last and the best of the round motor attack aircraft and it was my honor to fly her on her last carrier deployment in 1967 with VA-176.
If you know how much she was loved by the ground troops, enough said. If you don’t, ask a Viet Nam Marine Veteran. They called her “Sandy.”
